UK Runnings - by Tricksta

There are absolutley loads of gems floating around at the moment on the home-grown hip-hop at the moment along with the rise of Socail Misfits as a label putting out a double CD with fourty tracks on! The album is a collection and a reflection of the label to date and forthcoming projects include an album by Sheisty Da Gypsey that's gonna be banging real soon with a video currently in production. Big up Da Essence and PQ who have also been putting work on some new material too. All good London stuff.

Moorish Delta 7 from Birmingham are currently putting the finishing touches to there album. After a little sneak preview I can tell you that the stuff sounds tight and the Rodney P collobaration is real hot too. Up in Wolftown things have been rocking too, with the release of 'Artform Technique' by Wolftown Committee a limited edition 500 only 12" that has caused a stir. The next single is 'Boxed' which is the first UK hip-hop video to be filmed in HD, a new format of video that will replace film in years to come. Watchout for the album in May called 'Legendary Status' which will be on CD and double vinyl.

Also on the production tip watchout for the following names remixing some Wolftown stuff... Jay-Are, JT and Juttla. DJ MK has a 12" out in the moment that's getting some serious airplay. 'It's All Live' features Jhest, Harry Love, Kyza and Super T and is out the infamous Stonegroove Recordings. In Bristol big tings are gwarnin' thanks to the talented skils of old skool producer Longlastin and lyrical style of rapper Kelz. Watchout for the single 'Burnt Lips' which is dope.

Dark'n'Cold release their second UK hip-hop VHS compilation that featues videos from MC Skeme, Cashino and Vicious Circle amongst others. It gives you a wicked insight into the realness. 57th Dynasty's track 'Break Free' is a brilliant positive track about the badness of the streets. The video is doing the rounds on MTV and they recently supported Dialated Peoples on their UK tour. All good stuff and it's happening…
