Wierd Web
www.iloveraving.com
You shouldn't have to be told how big raving is in the States
at the moment (did anyone see Wyclef declaring his love of getting
down at a good all-nighter on '4Music' late last year). iloveraving.com
is a bit of a step back in time especially if you browse the forums
- anyone for a serious discussion about new dance steps using
your glow sticks? Also the pictures taken at parties are well
funny, lots of fancy dress, bug-eyed, tie-dye, baggy trouser wearing,
sweaty ravers - lots of old skool memories being conjured up by
surfing this one!
www.rebel-radio.org
"A Dread Outta Control Tune If You Rankin" is a promising
entrance to the Rebel Radio. You would be forgiven for thinking
you just touched down in J.A when you hit up this site. Rebel
Radio born in London, franchised in Austria is the place where
you dust up on your patois. Offering plenty of conscious messages
and words of wisdom such as watch the 'batty man' and repeated
warnings of 'babylon will fall'; kinda funny!
www.freakfarm.com/pranks.shtml
All the maddest sites seem to follow a common theme on this weird
web excursion. What is that? The fact they all seem to be American
of course. If you by-pass all the merchandising and all the other
crap at the start then enter this exact web address above. Prank
calls are the order of the day here. Listen to some young up-start
winding up advertisers for odd-job men, guitar lessons, Spanish
maids and hotel rooms to the cheeky, stuttering Yank enquiring
about the selection of escorts he can take out for the night to
the psychic reader and the depression hotline.
www.cheesesoup.com
Don't know where this one crawled out from! But if you get excited
about edam or just love to scoff your favourite stilton then check
out the numerous cheese soup recipes here. Starting off as we
mean to go on we are treated to beer cheese soup right at the
top of the page, um that sounds delicious! They all have star
ratings making beer cheese along with Canadian cheese, chicken
cheese, German potato cheese, jalapeno cheese, and tortilla cheese
all the dons of this bizarre fetish. Our advice is if you're going
to try these crude acts keep it well under your hat!
www.eugenemirman.com
From the other side of the Atlantic again Eugene Mirman is "the
marvellous crooning child". On request he attempts to sing
his way through songs like 'Roxanne', 'Walk This Way', 'Son of
a Preacher Man', 'Hey Jude' and 'Born in the USA'. Big deal you
might be thinking but the weirdest thing about this site is the
'singing photograph'. Presumably a morphed, made-to-look-old,
photograph of a famous American stand-up - good look to him is
what we say. This was more of a filler than a killer as we couldn't
find any other decent sites!
.
So if you don't want to see such crap like www.eugenemirman.com
in Lexicon ever again then take it upon yourself (if you don't
already know of some sick and absurd sites - which I'm sure you
do!) to go forth into 'cyber land' and tell us what's really worth
printing. Email suggestions to philp@lexiconmag.co.uk.
